August 2024 Employee of the Month: Generous employee pays it forward so a desperate father can visit his injured son
Last month, Miami-Dade Aviation Department Terminal Operations Agent Harold Dauphin was approached at MIA’s Concourse E information counter by a passenger desperately trying to fly to Boston to visit his son, who was in the ICU after a sudden accident. The passenger was distraught and crying because due to a misunderstanding, the airline was charging him more for a ticket than he could afford.
Dauphin tried to help the father by contacting both the airline’s customer service department and ticket counter to explain the challenging circumstances, but the airline was not able to offer any assistance. When Dauphin realized that the passenger had no other options, he generously decided to pay for the man’s ticket out of his own pocket.
For his selfless actions that went far above and beyond his call of duty, Dauphin was named MIA’s August 2024 Employee of the Month.
