February 2023 Employees of the Month: Heaven-sent TSA officers help elderly priest in need

During their lunch break In January, Transportation Security Administration Officers Maria Marks and Ellen Cameron came across an older passenger who needed help. The elderly man, who was also a priest, had just arrived at Miami International Airport from Orlando when he realized he had lost his wallet with his ID and money inside.

He had been trying to contact his family in Miami but was unsuccessful so far. With the help of Officer Marks, the man was able to call his church in Canada and get connected to someone at an affiliated church in Miami who could pick him up at the airport.

In the meantime, Officer Cameron used her own money to buy the man food since he did not have any money to buy something. Officers Marks and Cameron sacrificed the rest of their lunch break to make sure the elderly traveler was safely picked up.

Because Officers Marks and Cameron were true good Samaritans, they were named MIA’s February 2023 Employees of the Month.
