Frontier Airlines announces nine new Miami routes

Airline will offer 41 destinations, employ over 340 crew members at MIA

Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines today announced nine new nonstop Miami routes, including plans to begin its first-ever service to Aruba and service to the Turks & Caicos starting in November. Miami has quickly become one of Frontier’s largest operating bases, with 342 MIA-based pilots and flight attendants serving 41 nonstop domestic and international destinations.

We’re excited to continue our phenomenal growth in Miami with the announcement of nine new routes, including Aruba and the Turks and Caicos. We continue to focus on adding service to markets where our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach benefits customers and stimulates demand with affordable fares and convenient service. Today’s expansion holds true to that cornerstone and offers travelers the most routes we have ever flow from Miami to some of the most popular domestic and international vacation destinations.
Tyri Squyres, Vice President of Marketing, Frontier Airlines.

Frontier’s announcement includes seven new domestic cities for the airline from MIA: Memphis, Tennessee (3x weekly), Portland, Maine (3x weekly), St. Louis, Missouri (3x weekly), and Syracuse, New York (2x weekly), all starting on Nov. 1; Norfolk, Virginia (3x weekly) beginning Nov. 2; Albany and Rochester, New York (both 2x weekly) starting Nov. 4; Aruba, Netherlands Antilles once weekly starting Nov. 20; and Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (2x weekly) beginning Dec. 18.

I am thrilled to hear about Frontier’s plans to add more routes to its network at MIA. Expanding services to national and international destinations will help accelerate MIA's growth even further, translating to a stronger economy and increased job creation for Miami-Dade County residents.
Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County

Frontier is currently MIA’s second-busiest passenger airline in seat capacity and third busiest in monthly passenger traffic.

Thank you to Frontier Airlines for once again demonstrating their firm commitment to serving MIA by scheduling more year-round destinations for our passengers to choose from. We look forward to welcoming their new flights to Miami-Dade County this winter, and to seeing their presence at MIA continue to expand.

Ralph Cutié, MIA Interim Director
