GlobalX takes delivery of its first Airbus A320 at MIA

The delivery brings the new charter airline one step closer to FAA certification

Global Crossing Airlines Inc., operating as “GlobalX” (JET: TSX-V; JETMF: OTCQB), a new U.S. charter airline, took delivery of its first Airbus A320 aircraft this week at Miami International Airport, marking the beginning of the new passenger and cargo airline and fleet.

We are thrilled to call Miami International Airport home.  The need for a low-cost charter carrier is stronger than ever right now, and with the arrival of the A320, we will be able to support airlines and cargo operators during need periods and bring passenger airlift to underserved destinations.
Ed Wegel, Chairman and CEO of GlobalX

The aircraft arrived at MIA on January 17 from Amarillo, Texas, and was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute upon landing. This marks the first delivery of two aircraft scheduled for the first Quarter of 2021. GlobalX plans to operate a total of 10 aircraft by early 2022.

Congratulations to GlobalX for reaching this major milestone on their path to launching service at Miami International Airport. We look forward to seeing their beautiful new planes carrying plenty of passengers and cargo to Miami-Dade County in the near future.
Lester Sola, MIA Director and CEO

GlobalX’s first A320 aircraft came freshly painted in its signature blue and green livery. The aircraft will comfortably accommodate 180 passengers, featuring an all-economy class configuration while offering a large cargo hold capable of accommodating generous passenger baggage allowances. Upon completion of its FAA certification this upcoming spring, the A320 will take its inaugural official flight in Q2 of this year.

Upon completion of its FAA certification in early 2021, GlobalX A320 family passenger aircraft will offer low-fare passenger and cargo airlift to destinations throughout the United States, Caribbean, and Latin America. The airline will also provide third-party airlift for major airlines, tour operators, sports and college teams, and corporate groups. GlobalX flights will operate from Miami International Airport (MIA) and Atlantic City International Airport (ACY).
