March 2025 Employee of the Month: Good Samaritan buys airline ticket for stranded passenger
Jonathan Wright, an Airside Division Supervisor at Miami International Airport, was a true Good Samaritan recently when he encountered a traveler wandering the terminal who looked lost and disoriented. Jonathan discovered that the passenger was visiting Miami from London for the first time when he was the victim of an assault that left him with no money or return ticket, his cell phone broken, and no way to even buy food.
Without hesitation, Jonathan bought the man some food and then went from airline to airline trying to find assistance. Finally, Jonathan bought the man a one-way ticket to London out of his own pocket so he could get home.
“At a time when true generosity can seem rare, his selflessness and compassion are nothing short of inspiring,” said the British Airways employee who nominated him. “If miracles of human kindness exist, Jonathan embodies them. What matters most is the impact of his actions - a testament to the power of empathy and the difference one person can make.”
Jonathan’s extreme generosity and compassion earned him the I AM MIA March 2025 Employee of the Month award.
