May 2023 Employee of the Month: Cleaning crew supervisor uses CPR to revive cardiac arrest victim
In April, Roberto Mayol, a supervisor with cleaning vendor C&W Services at Miami International Airport, found himself picking up a passenger off the ground instead of litter when a traveler went into cardiac arrest and fell to the floor. The passenger was walking with his family through MIA when he suddenly felt severe chest pains and fell.
Thankfully, Roberto knew CPR and immediately began administering it. With the additional help of two airline employees and another nearby passenger, the cardiac arrest victim regained consciousness and survived after more medical attention.
Because of Roberto’s quick-thinking and compassionate actions, he was named MIA’s May 2023 Employee of the Month.
