MIA blends interactive art with story time for young travelers on Earth Day
Through a collaboration with local children’s book author Lola Passe on April 22, Miami International Airport blended storytelling with interactive art creation to share the message of Earth Day with its youngest travelers and their families.
Thanks to the latest Live at MIA experience, passengers with young children waiting for flights near MIA’s Books with an Altitude lending library at gate H5 received a hands-on art experience when they got to color pages from Passe’s book Ocean Heroes: Saving the Heart of the Sea and learn about protecting the environment in the process. Participants also heard readings from the book by Passe and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who visited MIA on Earth Day.
This year, the Live at MIA LIVE ARTS program has already hosted live music, line dancing, and theater performances in the global gateway’s terminal to entertain and delight travelers.
