MIA hosts first Guardians Appreciation Day lunch

The Miami Airline Management Council (AMC), comprised of representatives from the airlines and service providers at Miami International Airport, hosted the airport’s first Guardians Appreciation Day lunch on May 11 for more than 500 Miami-Dade Police, Miami-Dade Fire, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) employees working at MIA.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and County Commissioners Kevin Marino Cabrera and Raquel Regalado joined AMC and Miami-Dade Aviation Department leaders in serving lunch to MIA’s frontline public safety and security employees.

The inaugural event was held the day before Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in Miami-Dade County and during Public Service Recognition Week, which honors the people who serve as federal, state, county, local and tribal government employees.
