MIA Runway 5K Series kicks off at Miami-Opa locka Executive
Over 300 runners expected to make strides against breast cancer
WHAT:
Following the success of the inaugural MIA Runway 5K on runway 8L-26R at Miami International Airport in October 2020, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department has expanded the event with its first-ever MIA Runway 5K Airport Series. The first race of the series on March 19 is expected to see more than 500 runners hit the runway at Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport (OPF), followed by a larger race at MIA in October.
All event proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) campaign. The first MIA Runway 5K event in 2020 raised more than $10,000 for the MSABC campaign. To register or learn more, visit the MIA Runway 5K Airport Series website.
