November 2025 Employee of the Month: TSA Officer rescues passenger in medical distress
Earlier this month, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Supervisor Liliana Rodriguez happened to walk into a bathroom and recognized TSA Officer Alexis Anderson’s water bottle on the ground. When she walked further into the bathroom, she realized why Anderson had dropped her bottle.
Anderson was on the ground assisting a passenger who appeared to be having a seizure. She had positioned the passenger on their side to ensure they didn’t choke and had already bundled up a shirt under their head to help them avoid a head injury. Anderson and Rodriguez remained with the passenger until paramedics arrived, and Anderson relayed all the information that she could. She also assisted the passenger’s airline with finding all their belongings.
Anderson is a true representation of a TSA officer who, despite the federal government shutdown, continues to serve with integrity, respect, and commitment to the agency.
Because of Anderson’s quick thinking and compassion for a passenger in medical distress, she was named MIA’s November 2025 Employee of the Month.
