There's no objecting to how much we love our attorney, Altanese Phenelus.

She really knows how to lay down the law when necessary. Meet Altanese Phenelus, an FIU Law School graduate who litigates commercial and construction disputes at Miami International Airport (MIA). Outside of her daily role at MIA, Altanese is President of the Haitian Lawyers Association and a member of the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce. Get to know more about Altanese this Love your Lawyer Day!

How long have you been at MIA?

I have been an attorney at MIA for nearly 4 years, but have been an Assistant County Attorney for a total of 6 years.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the people I work with the most. My day-to-day communications with my clients -discussing and resolving issues, contracts, and business deals - are the best part of the job.

What is your role at MIA?

As an Assistant County Attorney for MIA, I provide legal counsel on transportation, security, and property-related matters. I also work with the Board of County Commissioners and staff to provide legal advice and prepare and review legislation on behalf of the Board.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments at MIA?

I have had the opportunity to negotiate and draft documents to resolve commercial, construction and insurance claims, which has saved MIA millions of dollars.

How does it feel to be recognized on Love your Lawyer Day?

I feel blessed and honored to be recognized on Love your Lawyer Day.
